Winter Vacation Checklist: Do You Have What You Need?

Winter Vacation Checklist: Do You Have What You Need?

Posted by WinterKids on Tuesday, January 7, 2014

Are you planning a big winter vacation for you and your family? Between scheduling airfare, hotel, transportation, lift tickets, and so on, a big family trip in the middle of winter can get overwhelming. Although the hard work does pay off (after all, you are on vacation with your family!), smaller details - like what your child is wearing on the mountain - can get overlooked. That's why we've put together a list to help you remember everything you need for your kids to be warm and dry in cold, wet, and snowy mountainous weather:
  • Warm, waterproof, and breathable kids ski jackets or kids snowboard jackets are a necessity for a fun day on the mountain. As the outermost clothing your child is wearing, this will keep him or her warm, dry, and comfortable.
  • Waterproof pants are a must-have! Ski or snowboard pants for kids will help keep their bum protected from wet snow if they fall on the mountain.
  • First or Fleece Layers are a key factor in keeping kids warm on the mountain. Layering is what keeps kids warm and cozy under their protective jacket and pants.
  • Cozy hats will keep your child's head warm - and are a necessity off-mountain too!
  • Warm and waterproof gloves or mittens keep your child's digits warm and toasty, so they can have a long, fun day on the mountain.
  • A pair of cozy socks will keep your child's toesies warm under ski boots, snowboard boots, or any type of winter boot.
  • A child should never go on the mountain without a protective helmet!
  • Goggles are also a must-have when skiing or snowboarding. Not only do they protect the eyes - they also help kids see better in sunny, snowy, or cloudy weather.
  • Waterproof and warm kids snow boots for time spent off the mountain are a necessity, as boots keep a child's feet toasty warm and dry. Winter boots are also stylish and cute, too!
  • Hand and feet warmers improve warmth and coziness in gloves, mittens, and ski or snowboard boots. These can be used by the entire family!
