It's mid-July, and summer is in full swing with tons of fun activities. Our days are happily consumed by hot weather, longer days, and plenty of outdoor adventures for kids of any age! Make sure the kids are dressed appropriately and have everything they need for their next outdoor adventure with the following summer essential must-haves:
T-Shirts
Kids t-shirts from WinterKids.com are lightweight, comfortable, and perfect for warm weather.
Made from quality fabrics, our t-shirts are extremely soft and feel great to wear in the summertime when the hot sun is blazing down upon us. Here are our favorites:
- The Burton Boys Logo Vertical SS Tee is a classic t-shirt with the Burton logo decorated across the chest. It is perfect for the avid little snowboarder that loves to try new adventures and it will let all his friends know he is ready shred this upcoming winter. In this 100% cotton tee, he’ll be the coolest kid at the skate park.
- She will love wearing The Kids Zemu Skier Tee to the amusement park. Everyone will see how bold and courageous she is just like Zemu when she goes on the largest rollercoaster. In such fun, bright colors, she’ll surely stand out amongst the crowds.
 Hoodies
Prepare the kids for those breezy summer nights by bringing along a hoodie that will protect their body and head from the elements. Hoodies are very important if you are camping or traveling to a place with a higher elevation, as it tends to cool down rather quickly without any warning. It can also be used as a warm and comfy cover-up after a dip in the cold ocean waters. See our favorite hoodies for him and her below.
- The Burton Boys Bonded Hoodie is a full-zip fleece sweatshirt that breathes and dries quickly, keeping him warm and dry. It is the ultimate high-tech hoodie for every occasion and will keep him comfortable and looking sharp on your adventure to the National Park.
- The Patagonia Girls Better Sweater Hoody, made of cozy polyester with a sweater-knit face and fleece interior, feels smooth against the skin, wears well, has a girlish shape, and goes perfectly with her firm fashion sense. It can be easily layered or taken off, and stowed away when the temperature warms up. This hoodie will be her go-to for roasting marshmallows around the campfire on a chilly night of camping.
Backpacks
It’s a good idea to get kids in the habit of carrying their own toys, extra layers, or travel necessities if they are old enough so that they can practice for having to carrying heavy school books in the fall and to create less weight and work for mom and dad. WinterKids.com has some great packs and bags designed just for kids. Our favorites include:
- Great for hiking and bike riding is the Patagonia Kids Refugio Pack 15L. Made out of strong and light recycled polyester with a water-repellent finish, this pack includes a main compartment, an inside main pocket organizer, a mesh water bottle side pocket, exterior lash points and reflective panels, an adjustable sternum strap, and padded shoulder straps as well as a back panel.
- The Fjallraven Kånken Mini is a smaller variety of the Kånken that is fitting for kids who want a very small backpack. It is perfect for small travel items, and is made from durable and lightweight Vinylon F to keep belongings dry. The Kånken Mini includes a large main compartment, two side pockets, and a zippered pocket in the front. There are also handles at the top as well as shoulder straps. Included is a removable seat pad and the logo doubles as reflector.
Sunglasses
Shield those delicate eyes from the harmful rays of the sun. Start out your child wearing sunglasses from a very early age so they will get used to them and keep their eyes protected. We love these pairs:
- The Forecast by Smith Leap is the perfect pair of sunglasses for your little one. The durable lens and frame design of these shades makes them great for active activities such as boating or casual ones like baseball games. With 100% UV Protection and impact resistant lenses as well as the aviator-styling and fun colors, these glasses are kid-tested and mother-approved.
- Grab a pair of the Forecast by Smith Play Date for your tiny fashionista, who will be the most stylish little girl at the zoo. The tiger stripe print and fun colors are sure to steal her heart while the 100% UV protection, impact resistant lenses, and durable frame will steal away yours.
Sunscreen
Last but certainly not least, be sure to bring along plenty of sunscreen and lip balm on your next summer adventure to protect their face and lips--because sunburns are neither fun for kids nor their parents!
