January is learn to ski and snowboard month! What better time than now to learn something new? There’s been a long debate whether kids should learn to ski or snowboard to begin but honestly, it should be determined on what they would like to try. It’s a common conception that skiing is easier to learn first. There may be some truth to this but that should not be a reason to stray away from snowboarding if that is what your child wants to try. Snowboarding is as attainable to learn as skiing but can take a bit more patience for some learners. Resort instructors are trained to teach all levels efficiently. Not to mention instructors, more often than not, are fun people who help distract from the difficulties and frustrations of learning a new skill.
