Today's ski and snowboard goggle lenses are manufactured in two shapes-spherical and cylindrical. Cylindrical lenses, as there name suggests, get their shape from the outside of a cylinder, and therefore look the linear vertical axis. This shape has been the standard goggle shape for everything from skiing to dirt biking and provides a slightly high amount of visible light protection than its spherical counterparts. Spherical lenses however, follow the curve of the human eye and are unmatched in terms of optical clarity and field of vision. This shape allows the eye to focus in a more natural way, minimizing eye fatigue. In addition, the bubbled shape gives the wearer greater peripheral vision.
