Gore-Tex® has been at the forefront of the waterproof and breathable fabric industry since its inception nearly 40 years ago. Gore fabrics are created using a lamination process that binds a durable outerwear materials with a waterproof membrane.  If you were to put the outer most layer of this membrane under a microscope, you would see it is made up of billions of microscopic pores tens of thousands of times smaller than a single droplet of water. These pores allow for gaseous vapors to move through the fabric, while at the same time keeping any external moisture out.  This combination of waterproofing and breathability helps Gore-Tex® excel in variety of outdoor sporting goods.
